When someone is accused of a sex crime, they might suffer from severe reputation
damage. While it is important in these cases to be sensitive of any potential
victims, it is equally important for the accused person to understand
their rights and have those rights protected.
A man in New Jersey was arrested this week after being accused of sexual
assault on a 14-year-old neighbor girl. According to police, the girl
said that the man assaulted her when he was watching the girl and her
brother when their mother was having a party in their downstairs apartment.
These accusations are extremely serious, and should not be taken lightly.
People who are arrested because of an alleged sexual assault crime in New
Jersey might be wise to speak with an experienced criminal defense attorney.
If a person is accused of a sex crime in New Jersey, they might be faced
with a stigma, even if they aren’t convicted of the crime. They may
have their name made public and linked to these accusations. This can
hurt a person’s professional and personal lives and might result in
difficulty finding housing options.
An experienced attorney can evaluate the person’s case and help them
ensure their rights are protected throughout the legal process. Sometime
evidence is mishandled and police violate the person’s rights during
an arrest. This can result in a person saying or doing something that
might lead to their conviction. An attorney can help protect the rights
of the accused and form a rigorous criminal defense in New Jersey.
