Man arrested, charged with multiple thefts in New Jersey

Police say they conducted a lengthy investigation all over the state before
making an arrest this week. Now, authorities are charging the man with
multiple theft counts for crimes they say he committed in multiple New
Jersey cities. The man was arrested in New Brunswick in his hotel room
and is accused of burglaries since March.
According to reports, the man is also a person of interest for more than
12 more burglaries. Police say that most of the cases didn’t involve
forced entry, and whoever stole items from the homes simply used an unlocked
door in the middle of the night. The authorities also say the man accused
of burglary has served time in prison for theft in the past.
Given the fact that the man has been convicted in the past, police might
be more rigorously pursuing charges against him. It is important to remember
that just because a person is arrested or a person of interest in a crime
doesn’t mean they are guilty. It might be wise, however, if someone
has previously served time for a crime, or is accused of a crime in a
complex case, that they seek the help of an experienced criminal defense attorney.
They can help people sort through the evidence against them and explain
the legal process. An attorney will make sure the person’s rights
aren’t violated and that they receive a fair trial. They can help
make sure none of the evidence was acquired illegally which may adversely
influence the person’s case.
