Serious charges filed against two from New Jersey in murder case

|

Two New Jersey residents may be facing a lot of opposition as their murder
trial is set to go before a grand jury. The male suspect is looking at
more serious penalties if he is convicted while the female suspect has
only been charged as an accomplice to murder.

Criminal charges are serious, especially if they are murder charges. Anytime
an individual has been charged with a crime, the consequences can be great.
Even if the charges are eventually dismissed or the suspect is found not
guilty, accusations can follow a person around for the rest of his or her life.

The two suspects were allegedly involved in a fatal shooting that occurred
in the early hours of the morning. An off-duty police officer had been
escorting a woman to her car when a gunman, likely the male suspect, approached
them. The gunman robbed the two and left, but not before shooting the
off-duty officer once.

It is unclear how the police found the two suspects. But police departments
from several different counties joined efforts in a massive manhunt that
eventually led them to the male and female.

Hopefully both suspects have spoken with defense attorneys. The male suspect
has a lot of things to overcome given his criminal history. According
to a county prosecutor, the suspect has been arrested a number of different
times as both a juvenile and as an adult. He has also been convicted of
escaping detention.

Speaking with a defense attorney can be beneficial for a number of different
reasons. Ultimately it can help the suspects protect their rights and
their future. The charges are serious and could change the two suspect’s
lives forever.
