Unconscious man arrested in New Jersey after reported police chase

Sometimes allegations of crime can ruin a person’s reputation. That
is why it might be important to seek help in forming a rigorous criminal
defense if you are ever charged with a crime.
A man was arrested over the weekend in New Jersey for allegedly driving
drunk and leading police on a chase. When the vehicle came to a stop,
the man was unconscious but still arrested and taken to a local hospital.
The man remains hospitalized for injuries he sustained during a crash
ended the chase. While the police automatically assume the man was under
the influence of alcohol, it is important to recognize the man has a right
to a fair trial and the right to defend himself.
One possible scenario is the man was not under the influence of alcohol
but was suffering from a medical condition that caused him to lose control
of his vehicle. Even if he wasn’t drunk driving, his reputation in
New Jersey could be tarnished because of the media coverage given to the incident.
Police say the man has been charged with 24 traffic violations and resisting
arrest while eluding an officer. These charges could carry severe penalties
if the man is convicted, so it is important the man forms a rigorous defense
and is aware of his rights. Since each person in the criminal justice
system is considered innocent until proven guilty, it is important that
all evidence is gathered legally and the accused person’s rights are
not violated during any investigations.
